Export Google Keep to Bear
Bear imports Markdown files and Evernote .enex. KeepExport writes both from your Takeout zip; the Markdown route keeps images alongside the notes.

Import into Bear
You get: A .zip of .md files with an attachments/ folder (or an .enex from the Evernote target).
- Download and unzip.
- In Bear: File → Import Notes → select the .md files (or the .enex).
- Tags in the frontmatter come through as Bear tags when “Use frontmatter” is on.
What carries over
- Title and text, with bold, italic and strikethrough
- Checklists with their checked state
- Labels
- Created and edited dates
- Archived notes (kept in an archived folder or marked)
- Images as attachments
Good to know
- Bear on iOS imports one file at a time; use a Mac for the bulk import.
Getting the export from Google
Open Google Takeout, deselect everything, select Keep, and create a zip export. Google emails a download link; the zip contains a Takeout/Keep folder. Drop that zip above. Full walkthrough: how to export Google Keep.
Questions
- Markdown or ENEX?
- ENEX keeps checkbox state and embeds images in one file; Markdown gives you a portable folder. Either works in Bear.
